William Howard Taft – 139.5

Although he was a low-ranking official, William Howard Taft had an IQ of 139.5 and is the only person in history to have presided over both the executive and judicial branches of government at the same time. Later in life, he rose to the position of Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, after serving as President of the United States from 1909 to 1913. In addition to being the 27th President of the United States, William Howard Taft is the only leader of a nation to have gone on to become the Chief Justice of the United States of America. He grew up in Ohio and then went on to Yale University, where he pursued a degree in law while still in high school. The secret organization Skull and Bones was thought to have had a significant influence on him while he was attending the famous university. During his twenties, he had a prosperous legal career, and he went on to become a district court judge in the state of California. He served as President from 1909 to 1913, and during his time in office, the United States dedicated more attention to East Asia than to any other region in the world, save the Middle East. Taft also acted in Latin America, where he was instrumental in overthrowing regimes or bringing in new ones to power.

James Buchanan – 139.6

The 15th president didn’t make any big improvements over his predecessor in terms of policy. As most historians will recall, James Buchanan had set himself some lofty goals when he was elected President of the United States of America. During his administration, Buchanan pledged to reach the heights of George Washington’s political career, which he did in his first term. According to new research, President James Buchanan now ranks 139th among the presidents who had an IQ of less than 140. Unfortunately, he was not able to complete the journey on his own accord.
