During his time as President of the United States, Abraham “Abe” Lincoln was responsible for a number of notable accomplishments that are still recognized by people throughout the world. Over the course of his presidency, which lasted from 1861 to 1865, he worked to secure the abolition of slavery and served as commander-in-chief of the Union forces during the American Civil War. Slavery was abolished in the United States when President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863, which created the framework for abolition by providing Slaves in the Southern United States the legal status of free persons. In addition, by ratifying the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, he helped to abolish slavery in the United States. He was assassinated in 1865, which tragically cut short his life and prevented him from witnessing the rewards of his labors for the duration of his days on this planet. Yet, surveys show that he is still considered to be the most popular and well-liked President in the history of the United States of America, despite the fact that he passed away in 2009. According to some estimations, he had an IQ of 150, making him not just one of the smartest presidents in history, but also one of the smartest people on the face of the world.

The assassination of President Abraham Lincoln is widely expected to go down in history as one of the most momentous events in the history of the United States of America. On April 14, 1865, President Abraham Lincoln was killed at the Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C., while watching a performance of Our American Cousin, which was being staged at the time by actor John Wilkes Booth. President Abraham Lincoln passed away just hours after taking office, only 5 days after the end of the Civil War. He had been in office only 5 days.
