Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States, served in office from 1933 to 1945 and was affectionately known as “FDR” by his friends and associates. His popularity was such that he was re-elected to the position four times within that time period, in fact! FDR steered the United States through a number of difficult times, including the Great Depression, Prohibition, and the Second World War, among others. In addition, his government was the driving force behind the New Deal, which set in action a slew of social and economic reforms. He had an IQ of 150.5, which put him in the top quarter of all presidents of the United States in terms of intelligence. He died in office at the age of 93.

Roosevelt’s Death
In the eyes of many, he was one of the greatest presidents in American history, and his death would be a cause of national sadness throughout the country. According to official documents, Roosevelt died on April 12, 1945, as a result of an intracerebral hemorrhage in his brain. Unfortunately, President Franklin D. Roosevelt would not be living to witness the end of World War II in person.
