Tragedy Strikes
Nadya Suleman worked in a psychiatric facility when she was caught in the middle of a horrific event on September 18th, 1999. A riot broke out at the facility due to twenty patients, and Nadya attempted to intervene immediately. Unfortunately, during the commotion, one of the female patients threw a wooden desk into the air, which landed on Nadya’s back, resulting in her herniated disc injury. Nadya was awarded $170,000 in workers’ compensation, but the money only helped her get by for a short time and was the least of her problems.
