Claire Bloom – 90, Finchley
Claire Bloom was forced to spend a year in America as a teenager to escape the horrors of the Blitz German bombing campaign. While in Florida, she worked as a performer for the British War Relief Society and began her career in the show business. She previously studied theatrical acting in London. Bloom has over 120 acting credits, including Limelight, Clash of the Titans, and The King’s Speech. She was most recently seen in Miss Dal and the miniseries Summer of Rockets. She turned 90 in February, but she’s not thinking about retiring: according to IMDb, she’s working on a new film called Sophie’s War.
Stephanie Beacham – 74, Barnet
Stephanie Beacham, a Barnet native, is another stunning actress who has performed in television, theater, film, and even radio! She is perhaps best remembered for her role in the film The Nightcomers (also featuring Marlon Brando), but she rose to prominence as a small-screen performer. She has appeared in Tenko on BBC, Connie on ITV, and Dynasty on ABC. She appeared as a retired lady in the TV series Boomers in 2014. However, the role did not motivate her to leave the entertainment industry. Instead, she’s been working harder than ever, and she’s got three new projects in the works, including the action-thriller Renegade, which stars Danny Trejo.
