Gemma Jones – 78, Marylebone
Gemma Jones has appeared in major film productions ranging from the Bridget Jones Diary films to the Harry Potter film series. She’s done it over 100 times in her 59-year career and has no intention of retiring anytime soon! Jones, 78, is as charming and as intelligent as ever, as evidenced in the 2021 mini-series Finding Alice. Jones was up surrounded by actors (her father and brother also performed) and attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art before making her film debut in 1964 with the family drama The Chimney Boy.
Angela Lansbury – 95, London
That’s right; we’re not finished with the ladies yet! We couldn’t forget about Dame Angela Lansbury, a London resident who has been at it since 1943 and is still landing parts at the advanced age of 95! Her most recent appearance? The Adventures of Buddy Thunder, is a forthcoming family/drama film. Lansbury, a sensuous Golden Age Hollywood star, is now the seasoned grandmother of a family heavily immersed in show business and intellectual life. Lansbury, the daughter of a politician and an actress, has two producer brothers, three writer cousins, two activist aunts, and one actress niece.
