President of the United States during World War I, from 1913 to 1921, Woodrow Wilson was known as “The Greatest Generation.” When World War II came to an end, the 28th President of the United States played a role in the negotiation of the Treaty of Versailles, which was signed in November of that year. It’s one of his most famous quotes to say, “At long last, the entire world has recognized America as its own personal savior of the world!” Throughout history, his efforts to persuade the United States to become a member of the League of Nations, the precursor to the United Nations, would be recognized as a watershed moment. This was, however, stopped from happening at the time by Congress, and some historians feel that this was a contributing reason to the onset of World War II. Jimmy Carter – 156.8
During his tenure as president, Jimmy Carter led the United States to its 39th term, which he held from 1977 to 1981. A peanut farmer’s son by birth, he aided his family’s business in its expansion while also battling on the side of civil rights activists. In his pursuit of a political career, this was beneficial to him. Other achievements during his administration include the formation of the Departments of Energy and Educational Affairs, as well as the founding of the National Science Foundation. He should be given credit for signing the Camp David Accords, which resulted in the 1979 Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty, which should be recognized. When asked about his moral authority and dedication to seeking fair justice, he scored high grades from the C-SPAN survey participants. Over the course of his presidency, Carter was confronted with a number of international issues, including the Iran Hostage Crisis and the 1979 Energy Crisis, among others. As a result of having to cope with these episodes, he suffered a significant setback in his public image, and he was ultimately defeated in the 1980 presidential election by Republican contender Ronald Reagan. Carter was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for the efforts of his non-governmental organization, the Carter Center, despite this.
