Being pregnant with eight babies must have put Nadya’s body under a lot of strain, especially since one baby is already difficult, and eight is far more than the average. Soon after, the media picked up on her story, and Nadya and her children became celebrities. It was around this time that she earned the moniker “Octomom.” Of course, not all single mothers in California make the news, but Octomom’s celebrity wasn’t born out of anywhere: Nadya had a world-record-breaking pregnancy.
