This shot, in our opinion, captures the whole scene. To be honest, you could probably make a whole story out of it. The dirty sea washed over the muddy throne… It’s absolutely moss-covered… It’s very haunting when you think about it. Once again, our minds wander to a variety of possibilities that may have led to the chair being tossed into the canal in the first place. Must it have been a tense situation to be in? Is it true that it was a terrible mishap? There are various alternatives available.

When the water is slowly drained into the River Seine, staff will spend hours ensuring that it runs smoothly. A lot of work has been done, from relocating fish caught in the canal to fully renovating the canal’s four double locks. Some worn-out small parts must, of course, be replaced. The entire process will take about three months from start to finish.
