Ambitious Projects
Dubai’s human-made islands are another intriguing and unique feature. Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Jumeirah are two human-made islands shaped like palm trees. On the other hand, the World Islands Project is a massive project currently in the works that deserve our full attention. It’s a world map made up of 300 small islands. – city, landmark, or world will have its own island. The overall cost of this illustrious project was projected to be $13 billion in 2005. They were forced to halt building due to the financial crisis of 2008. For the time being, only a few islands have been created. Do you think they’ll be able to finish it on time?
Traffic Congestion
As you can see, this is what traffic jams look like. All of these high-end cars are stacked up and honking their horns at one another! If we were to equate it to a traffic jam, it would be a luxury car display. True, not everyone can afford a Ferrari, but that doesn’t take away from its worth. The government is investing heavily in transportation infrastructure enhancements and upgrades because the city’s rapid growth has resulted in traffic congestion. After an 18-month construction period, the Dubai Metro, for example, started operating in 2009. Traffic congestion is estimated to cost the city $790 million a year!
