The Route
The canal runs from the Seine’s Bassin de l’Arsenal to just below La Bastille. The latter is the location of a decommissioned French Revolutionary War prison. Then it occurs near the Place de la République before rising north to the Bassin de la Villette. It crosses the Canal de l’Ourcq there.

Strange Things In The Water
What sparked your curiosity the first time you saw it? Tables, shopping carts, suitcases, garbage cans, toilets, bicycles, and bikes were discovered at the bottom, just in case you forgot. There was also an antique stereo on the floor, in addition to the previously mentioned items. You never know what you’ll see when you go there.
