When the bugs invade the Earth, he immediately switches to command mode. He’s a skilled soldier and one of the bravest characters in the movie. He ultimately begs Rico to grant him a speedy death when he falls into the sandpit. Despite his unhappiness, Rico offers to fulfill his final desire.
