Sadly, despite what Child Protective Services said, another person with significant power over Nadya’s life strongly disagreed that her home was suitable for her children. Her landlord didn’t like the idea and told Nadya that she had broken the terms of her lease. Furthermore, he informed the press about Nadya’s situation before evicting her and her 14 children. Nadya wanted to be a good mother to her children, but they were on the verge of becoming homeless, so she took drastic measures.
