Joan Van Ark Then
She is most recognized for her role as Valene Ewing in the long-running television series Dallas, for which she received an Emmy nomination. Knot’s Landing, a spin-off of Dallas, was her next stop, and she stayed there for another 13 seasons. Van Ark has been in a number of television series, including Love Boat, The Six Million Dollar Guy, Bonanza, and M*A*S*H. As Valene Ewing, she was nominated for a Soap Opera Digest Award twice, and both times she won. Later, she returned to Dallas for the 2013 remake of the film. She has also appeared as a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race and provided voiceovers for the animated feature Archer’s Adventure.
