Examining the band
The jeweler delicately turns the ring, her fingers moving across its surface. “See this engraving inside?” she asks, passing me the magnifying lens. “It’s not common, only done for special custom orders.” I squint, gazing through the lens, attempting to interpret the tiny symbols she is indicating. Confusion creases my forehead as I glance from the ring to her, unsure what she is expressing.
