Many had begun interpreting the story in a manner in which neither Rosalynd or Jason agreed with. Rosalynd said that she really hoped that people don’t just see this act of kindness as “this white guy helping this black girl”, saying that this gracious gesture came from a place of compassion and love.” Jason agreed, saying that it wasn’t about him or Rosalynd specifically, but that he wanted to set an example for all people, that they should “stop and think a little bit before they judge people – on all sides.”
