Creedence Clearwater Revival’s John Fogerty is one of the musicians who enjoys joining in on the joke about their misinterpreted lyrics. He really sang the erroneous line on stage during the recording of his 1998 “Premonition” concert (close listeners can hear it fairly well after the final stanza).
