Tom Selleck must have had a particular knack for playing members of the police force. He starred in the show Blue Bloods as Frank Reagan, the police commissioner. According to Selleck, he routinely received salutes when he stepped out in costume. Why? The reason is that police officers are mandated to salute police commissioners when they see them in uniform. While we don’t know how Selleck felt about the salutes, we’re sure he was flattered to be receiving the sign of respect!

It seems that Selleck is quite the humorist! His costar Donnie Wahlberg has widely reported on Tom Selleck’s sense of humor. Wahlberg stated, “He can [be funny], yes, usually after he makes sure everyone understands what’s important. It would feel like Christmas on a Tuesday night in August when my dad started telling jokes and it’s the same thing with Tom, when he starts with his oddball jokes and his weird rhymes that he tells from 1930 that are so funny. Everybody feels so much lighter and happier.”
