There was one tiny hitch, however. Zoo employees were normally not allowed to review whatever CCTV footage they liked. They have to follow a protocol, and it could still be denied. It was all due to a privacy regulation, therefore John had to obey the guidelines. Knowing that this was a time-sensitive problem, John approached his supervisor, hoping that he would review the film himself.

John’s supervisor was skeptical at first, but after John explained how important the seals’ well-being was to the zoo and how the zoo could lose a lot of money if one of the seals disturbed the tourists, he decided to examine the film nonetheless. However, John was not permitted to remain in the room, so he returned to work.
