In the sixties, when actor David Birney first appeared on screen, he caused women everywhere to swoon. After a successful start on the soap opera Love Is a Many Splendid Thing in 1967, his career expanded rapidly to include film, television, and the stage. David’s health declined precipitously after his 2017 Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Friends say the actor, who has since retired, can still hold conversations with her and with them. We are relieved he is still with us, but saddened that he must endure this.
