Bo Derek’s climb to stardom was gradual, but fruitful. She originally gained public attention in the 1979 romantic comedy 10, directed by her husband, John Derek. This performance led to her landing a few other roles, including Fantasies and Tarzan the Ape Man. The latter was her first leading part in a mainstream Hollywood film, directed by John once more. Bo has now semi-retired due to her few television appearances, but she has actively contributed to causes such as Disabled American Veterans and WildAid.
