The assassination of President Abraham Lincoln is widely expected to go down in history as one of the most momentous events in the history of the United States of America. On April 14, 1865, President Abraham Lincoln was killed at the Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C., while watching a performance of Our American Cousin, which was being staged at the time by actor John Wilkes Booth. President Abraham Lincoln passed away just hours after taking office, only 5 days after the end of the Civil War. He had been in office only 5 days.
