Usually, Margaret would retreat into the kitchen, leaving Lily and Thom to talk into the night. She was most looking forward to it this evening, but it had to be different. Lily excused herself as soon as Margaret went into the kitchen. She started to go to the restroom but turned around as soon as she was out of sight.
