Alaska – Insomnia (2002)
This American version of a Norwegian film was released in 2002. Al Pacino was cast to play a detective sent to support a police officer played by Hilary Swank in a little town named Nightmute. They work together to find a serial killer played by Robin Williams.
California – Clueless (1995)
Is there a more well-known coming-of-age film than this? “Ugh, as if,” says Alicia Silverstone, who plays Cher and gives us famous glances as she befriends a new student named Tai Frasier. Amy Heckerling, the film’s director, investigated how genuine Beverly Hills School pupils spoke and acted to ensure that she got it properly. If you ask us, the cast did everything right—fun fact: this film was partially based on Jane Austen’s “Emma.”
